The short version

Awake has no account and no sign in. The app sends nothing except one license check. It does not track what you do and it does not know what your agents work on. The task summary you see when you open the lid never leaves your Mac.

What the app does

License check

When you activate a key the app sends the key and a device identifier to our server. The device identifier is a SHA-256 hash of your Mac's hardware UUID. We never receive the UUID itself and we cannot reverse the hash. Purpose: one key belongs to one Mac. Legal basis: performance of a contract, Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR.

Everything else stays local

Working times, the names of your tools and the summary of the last request are stored only on your Mac in ~/.awake and never transmitted.

What happens when you buy

Stripe

Payment processing. Stripe receives your email address and payment details. We never see card data. Stripe Payments Europe Ltd, Ireland. stripe.com/privacy

Resend

Sends the email with your license key. Receives your email address and the key. Resend, Inc., USA — data transfer under standard contractual clauses. resend.com/privacy

Supabase

Stores key, email address, device hash and purchase date. Region: EU REGION — CONFIRM AFTER DEPLOY. supabase.com/privacy

All three act as processors under Art. 28 GDPR. Data processing agreements are in place.

How long we keep it

License data for as long as the license is valid, then for the statutory retention period of ten years for records relevant to tax law (§ 147 AO). Activation attempts are deleted after one day.
